Lyrics of Virtuous Three
The old man said to the passing youth,
"Where do you go in such haste?"
"I'm searching for honesty, love, and truth,
And I haven't a moment to waste."
The old man gave a cynical
laugh,
And he said,
"Why, haven't you heard?
Honesty and truth have long since died,
And love is a four-letter word.
The youth ignored the old
man's words
As he
continued on at a run
With his head held high and a glint in his eye
To the east and the rising sun.
At last he came to a bend in
the road
And there in a
shady nook
A maiden sat
with a babe on her lap
And they had an angelic look.
As he gazed at the pair in the
cool morning air,
He
knew that he'd found all three.
This innocent maid with the gurgling babe
Were truth and love and honesty.
