Lyrics of Seven Days
Was he just unlucky?
Was he framed?
No one spoke up
He got blamed
For something, something he didn't do
Oh no! oh no! oh no! oh no!
It was just another Saturday
night
Bill and his
friend were feeling all right
When they both agreed, what have we got to lose?
So they headed on down to the liquor store
Their chests poking through their muscle shirts
As they walked in the front door
Ready to party, oh yeah! but first they had to buy
some booze
No sooner had they picked up some bottles of gin
When a masked man with a gun came walking in
Shouting this is a stick up....put all the money in
the bag
It happened so fast
Bill's friend panicked and ran out the back door
The cashier lay dead on the floor
The robber got away never to be found
Now he never knew who made the
call
But it didn't take
the police long at all
To handcuff him and throw him to the ground
He took it like a man
After all he didn't have much of a plan
There really wasn't much else he could do
In the wrong place
At the wrong time
He hired a lawyer
That took his last dime
And then he disappeared too
The Judge would not listen
He didn't post bale
I'm sentencing you to twenty years in jail
Poor Bill was a broken man
The time went slow in that
eight by ten cell
There
were many days things didn't go well
He just wanted to lay down and die
He never gave up hope
He knew he had to cope
As he quietly asked himself why
Was I just unlucky?
Was I framed?
No one spoke up
I got blamed
For something, something I didn't do
Oh no! oh no! oh no! oh no!
The day finally came and he
could not speak
When his
torn dirty old calendar said just one more week
Just seven days and you'll be a free man
Pulling weeds in the prison
garden
He happily waited
for his pardon
Just
seven more days until I can feel alive
Seven days, just seven more
days
For my day to
arrive
Just seven more
days
And all I got to do
All I got to do is survive
