Lyrics of Radio KDRM

Long ago,once upon a time
I was very young
I had nothing but time
I thought I would take a trip
Just to see what I could find
Yes, once upon a time

Was it wanderlust? I asked myself
Or was I just bored?
As I traveled down the highway
In my old "59" Ford

Crossing the border into Texas
As the sun was going down
Out of no where in the distance
appeared this strange looking little town

Driving down the narrow street
I felt a strange sensation
And just past the grocery and liquor store
Stood this tiny radio station

An old man was standing in the door way
The name on his shirt said Clyde
He said I've been waiting for you
Come on! Let's go inside

Hello, he said to me, as he said his name again
Welcome to my radio show, this is K.D.R.M.
He said I hope I'm not keeping you from something
I said no and I really don't care
Then let's get to it, and before I knew it
We were on the air

Hello and good evening he said
And welcome to my show
This is Clyde and I'm your host
On K.D.R.M. Radio!!!

You know I always try hard to be entertaining
And strive to bring you the best
Well tonight's show will be quite special
We have a very special guest

We talked back and forth for hours
We played music too
I looked up at the clock and saw
The evening was almost through

During a couple of commercials
I told Clyde I really should be on my way
I really should go
He just looked at me and said thank you
Thank you for being on my show
And you are always welcome
So very welcome my friend
To come back any time you like
To Radio K.D.R.M.

As the sun came up while I was driving
I looked into my rear view mirror
The town and the radio station had vanished
They completely disappeared

When suddenly my car radio crackled
With a voice so loud and clear
This is Clyde, the voice rang out,
I miss you and wished you were here

And it was such a pleasure having you on my radio show
That I'm going to do something special, and thought you'd like to know
>From now on through eternity, just for you my friend
All my shows will be dedicated to you
and you can never sign off again...from...........Radio K.D.R.M.
