Lyrics of Hibernation-Insights-Jenelle
Coming out from underground
out to find the first inklings of spring
out
from under a rock
out to discover the newness of new life
Is it time
for spring already?
Did I miss anything?
What happened while I was away?
Does it matter?
oh yes, I know I poked my nose out
into someone else's
business once in a while
I was just making sure that I was still safe and
secure
ok to stay in my own little world
And then gloriously
I
returned to my hibernation
of books in bed
and long hours of creation
marveling at the wintry weather outside
grateful, giddy, and a little
guilty
Guilty of using my privilege
as I easily try
to stay warm
and dry
right here
Although I'm glad I didn't need
to brave the
elements too often
or confront uncomfortable conditions
of venturing out
very much
I'm also foggily sad
that I may have missed
the
character building battles
of weathering the wider world
On the other
hand
my new found ability to hibernate
and create the comfortable
conditions
of staying in
alone and together
has enriched my dreams
and languished longings
so, spring smells natural
and maybe I'm ready
and right on time
like the slow transition of the season
that it really is
It really is.
