Lyrics of Friendship

Friends will come and they will go
but good friendships always last.
You can't predict the future
but you can look back at the past.
And I will always have the memory of the day that I found you.
Our friendship was always meant to last.

It was at the reception.
I was the best man for the Groom.
That's when I saw her
sitting way across the room.

Her eyes had a sparkle, her hair was so fine.
It was the color of a fine red wine.
She looked so natural just sitting there.
She caught me staring but didn't seem to care.

So I walked on over with intentions to introduce.
Hello there, I said, my name is Bruce.
She didn't answer, she just stared at the floor.
I felt so stupid that I headed for the door.

I can still remember, that feeling, oh so grand,
when she ran up behind me and gently nudged my hand.
Her name tag said Molly and I knew right then.
if I played my cards right we would soon be friends.

So I asked her politely, would you like to go for a ride?
My old Ford Pickup is parked just outside.
Again no answer she just dug in her feet.
And before I knew it she was in my front seat.

Her head out the window, her hair blowing all around,
as we drove through the back country, then back into town.

We bonded together and got along so well;

best friends forever and you know I could tell.

To her it never mattered no matter what I did.
She never ever chattered, she never flipped her lid.
She was always so happy it was just her way.
A smile for me at the end of the day.

Friends will come and they will go
but good friendships always last.
You can't predict the future
but you can look back at the past.
And I will always have the memory of the day that I found you.
Our friendship was always meant to be true.

This went on forever for the next ten years.
But then came the day I would face my worst fears.
I was told her time was over and soon she would be gone.
Her headstone on the north end of my lawn.

Now I hunt and fish alone
without her by my side.
And things just are not the same
when I go out for a ride.
That old pick up truck gets lonely, as lonely as can be.
Oh Molly, oh Molly, why aren't you sitting next to me?

Friends will come and they will go
but good friendships always last.
You can't predict the future
but you can look back at the past.
And I will always have the memory of the day that I found you.
Our friendship was always meant to be true.

It will last forever, It will always make me glad
because Molly, sweet Molly you were the best DOG I ever had!!!!!!
